【Yishun #1 - Prawn Paste Chicken】
Yishun aka Nee Soon is located in the northern part of Singapore where you can catch the most beautiful sunrises & sunsets and explore the great outdoors with therapeutic walks in the many nature parks. Also, did you know that Yishun is the ‘Home of Hawker Heroes’?
Everyone loves chicken wings, especially ‘Har Cheong Gai’ (prawn paste chicken). This dish can be found almost on every Zhi Char stalls’ diners table. The stall selling these famed prawn paste chicken - Ah Tan Wings - is located opposite a 14-hectare nature park. True to their slogan, these wings are indeed 忘不了 (unforgettable)!

Ah Tan Wings Dabao Version
According to sources, these wings are marinated for two days before they are coated with specially-made batter and fried to crispy perfection. The owners have spent more than a year to perfect the recipe for the best ‘Har Cheong Gai’ in Yishun, if not in all of Singapore!

Ah Tan Wings Dabogram Version
Now, here is what #dabaogram did. We decorated the plate with cucumber shards, topped the toasted rice with egg yolk, and carefully positioned the drumette. Lastly, we garnished the dish with a touch of Ah Tan Wing's specially curated chilli sauce. Viola! 📸
We would like to thank @ahtanwings for serving such delicious local delights. This is an un-sponsored series in which we hope to raise awareness of our rich local hawker food culture and help local hawkers during this unprecedented period. Join us on this journey of rediscovery where we dabao and transform our local favourites into works of gastronomic art, one district at a time.
